BEF Announces Law Firm's Purchase of Renewable Green Tags

The Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) recently announced that regional law firm Stoel Rives, LLP has committed to purchasing wind-generated Green Tags representing 10 percent of its firm-wide energy demand.

According to BEF, Stoel Rives' renewable energy resources purchase, up from six percent of the firm's energy demand last year, represents an annual reduction of more than 1 million pounds of greenhouse gas emissions, the equivalent of planting 223 acres of trees or removing 107 vehicles from the roadways for one year.

"Stoel Rives is to be commended on its commitment to helping offset greenhouse gas emissions and in its forward-thinking approach to include all of its offices across its multi-state business in determining its energy load," said BEF vice president of marketing and sales Tom Starrs. "What's important is ensuring more green energy gets put into the grid, and whether that energy is generated in Washington, Oregon or elsewhere, Stoel Rives is leading by example."
