Santa Clara, CA's municipal electric utility Silicon Valley Power (SVP), in conjunction with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), recently announced that Agilent Technologies, Inc. has signed up to participate in SVP's renewable energy program "Santa Clara Green Power."

According to SVP, Agilent's renewable power commitment -- 1,608 megawatt-hours annually -- represents the largest clean power commitment yet under the Santa Clara Green Power program and makes Agilent a member of the EPA's Green Power Partnership for the programs at its Santa Clara site.

"The commitment to renewable power is an extension of a broad set of initiatives we've implemented globally to conserve energy and minimize our impact on the environment," said Agilent environmental health and safety director Roy West. "Santa Clara Green Power allows us to work towards these goals together with our community."
