GE Energy to Supply Turbines for FPL Energy's TX, OK Sites

GE Energy recently announced it has been contracted to supply 147 of its 1.5-megawatt (MW) wind turbines to FPL Energy for installation at two new wind power projects in Texas and Oklahoma with a total generating capacity of more than 220 MW.

According to GE Energy, the Callahan Divide Wind Energy Center in Taylor County, TX, which is scheduled to begin construction later this year, will utilize 76 of the company's turbines, adding 114 MW of wind capacity to the state grid.

GE Energy said the Weatherford Wind Energy Center in Custer County, OK, which is scheduled for completion later this year, will employ 71 of the company's turbines, totaling 106.5 MW of power capacity.
