AREVA Purchases Stake in German Wind Turbine Manufacturer

The AREVA group recently announced it has purchased a 21.1-percent stake in Hamburg, Germany-based wind turbine manufacturer REpower, which specializes in "high-output" turbine technology.
According to AREVA, REpower offers sales and industrial synergies with the company's Transmission and Distribution division.
AREVA noted that investment in transmission and distribution can amount to nearly 25 percent of the total investment in offshore technologies.
