FPL Installs Fuel Cell at FL High School

Fuel Cells Today, April 13, 2004

A fuel cell recently installed by Florida Power and Light Company (FPL) at a Florida high school will be the focal point of a yearlong effort to study the technology.

The proton exchange membrane fuel cell, installed at North Port High School, is capable of generating up to five kilowatts of power.

Data from the fuel cell will be shared with the Department of Energy, and FPL will evaluate the feasibility of adding fuel cells to its energy portfolio.
