DOT Approves TOHS Metal Hydride Storage System

Fuel Cells Today, April 22, 2004

The Department of Transportation (DOT) has approved the transport of hydrogen using metal hydride storage technology developed by Texaco Ovonic Hydrogen Systems, LLC (TOHS).

"The authorization for a family of hydrogen storage products under this exemption will significantly shorten time to market for new products," said TOHS business development manager Michael Zelinsky.

While DOT has granted approval for similar products, TOHC officials say this latest approval will be more widely applicable.
