Millennium Cell Awarded Phase II Funding for C2P2 Project

Fuel Cells Today, August 31, 2005

Millennium Cell, Inc. recently announced it has been awarded Phase II funding for participation in a Common Core Power Production (C2P2) program with the U.S. Air Force's Advanced Power Technology Office (APTO) and the Department of Defense's (DoD) Fuel Cell Test and Evaluation Center.

According to Millennium Cell, the company will design a solid borohydride fuel cell module and produce critical components for use in a five-kilowatt system that was demonstrated during the program's first phase.

"This follow-on award is evidence of our ability to deliver against C2P2 program objectives and further demonstrates the scalability of our hydrogen storage technology for use in a variety of military and industrial applications," said Millennium Cell president Adam Briggs.

Millennium Cell noted that the program focuses on the development of C2P2 technology using fuel cell systems as interchangeable power sources for military equipment.
