Plug Power's GenCore Fuel Cell Approved for GSA Listing

Fuel Cells Today, March 10, 2005

Plug Power, Inc. recently announced that its GenCore five-kilowatt backup fuel cell system has been approved by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) for listing on the Federal Supply Service Schedule.

According to Plug Power, the GenCore system has been listed under the classification of Power Distribution Equipment, Generators and Batteries, which allows federal agencies to purchase the fuel cell systems directly from the Federal Supply Service Schedule under a pre-negotiated contract.

"The Federal Supply Service listing represents another critical 'approved for purchase' milestone that will permit us to continue satisfying the backup power needs of federal customers," said Plug Power chief marketing officer Mark Sperry. "This GSA approval will help streamline the purchasing process within the federal government, which should aid in accelerating the deployment of our GenCore products."
