The well known interior designer Alidad (www.alidad.com; 44 [0] 20 7384 0121) has recently launched his first range of furniture. Produced in conjunction with furniture designer Thomas Messel, the Velvet Furniture Collection is formed of glamorous, opulent pieces that combine baroque-influenced shapes in leather and bronze with dramatic studded velvet.
The self-styled 'antiques of the future' are named after Roman emperors.
