Suffolk House Antiques

Apollo, Nov, 2004 by Susannah Woolmer

The colour of early oak furniture can vary for many reasons: whether it is sapwood or heatwood, how it was cut, where the timber originated, and how the completed piece was treated. An exhibition celebrating these astonishing variations takes place at Suffolk House Antiques (High Street, Yoxford, Suffolk, +44 [0]1728 668122), from 27 November until 4 December.

A particular highlight includes a rare Charles | refectory table with a turnover top.
