Pieter Claesz : Master of still life in the Golden Age

Pieter Claesz (1596/67-1660): Master of still life in the Golden Age at the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem, the Netherlands, is the first major exhibition of the artist, with forty-five paintings (until 3 April 2005). It tracks his development from cluttered tables, to simplified scenes influenced by Christian frugality (left) and the late show pieces. ( 31 [0] 23 511 5775)
