Rethink 50 shows strength and grows over 8% during election month

The company has just re-engineered its entire product line, going down towards 1-inch drives for portable digital devices such as hard disk MP3 players and up market into new enterprise drives, while pulling back from the 3.5-inch form factor, which used to mean Notebooks, while and pushing ahead with 2.5-inch drives instead to replace them.

Seagate basically hit heavy price competition that drove it away from operating in the 3.5-inch market, which is still a big volume business for PCs.
