Open source database leaders named

MySQL and FirebirdSQL are tied for the lead in open source database market share with each being used by just over 50% of customers (as many organizations run different databases for different tasks).

Speciality databases, such as those for unstructured data and those that run very fast, round out the list from Evan Data. Many companies also run their open source databases in conjunction with traditional systems like SQL Server, Oracle, and DB2.
