* Aerial Display At the 2007 Pensacola Beach, Fla., Air Show, crews from the CGC Stingray and CGC Cypress keep a watchful eye while maintaining the show's safety zone as high flying acts take to the sky July 21.
* A Solemn Patrol A 25-foot small boat crew from Marine Safety Detachment St. Paul, Minn., patrols the safety zone around the collapsed Interstate 35 West bridge, in Minneapolis Aug. 3. Shortly after 6 p.m. Aug. 1, the I-35 West bridge over the Mississippi River collapsed, killing 13 people.
* Naval Security CGC Cochito, homeported in Little Creek, Va., enforces a 500-yard security zone around the USS Harry S. Truman as it transits into Naval Station Norfolk, Va., Aug. 1. The Cochito's main missions include homeland security patrols, search and rescue and maritime law enforcement.
* Lion of the Sea A staff member from the Marine Mammal Care Center in San Pedro, Calif., releases a sea lion from a 25-foot Coast Guard Safe Boat off Catalina Island, Calif. The sea lion was released along with another sea lion that had also been at the care center.
* Major Leaguer Admiral Thad Allen, the National Combined Federal Campaign Chair, threw out the first pitch at the Nationals game in support of the CFC Kickoff. His grandson Zachary Thomas Folley supported him from the sidelines.
* Boutwell at Shanghai The crew of the CGC Boutwell, homeported in Alameda, Calif., bids farewell to Shanghai, China, Aug. 20. The Boutwell arrived in Shanghai to learn from the Chinese coast guard as well as demonstrate different techniques to help strengthen international maritime safety and security.
