Raquel Welch film festival

Latino Leaders: The National Magazine of the Successful American Latino, April-May, 2004

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) recently kicked off a three-day film tribute to Hollywood's favorite sex symbol, Raquel Welch, with a special screening and panel discussion for the legendary cult classic Myra Breckinridge.

Raquel Welch, who starred in the film, and director Michael Sarne, participated in a special panel discussion about this over the top adaptation of Gore Vidal's sardonic novel. This special engagement started a three-day Welch film tribute by LACMA and Fox Home Entertainment celebrating the March release of the Raquel Welch DVD Collection.

Golden Globe-winning actress Raquel Welch, who transformed her sex symbol role One Million Years B.C. into a successful career spanning four decades, has also become a committed activist for women's health issues.

Acclaimed director, actor and writer Michael Sarne directed Myra Breckinridge and Road to St. Tropez.
