Editor's note
Latino Leaders: The National Magazine of the Successful American Latino, June-July, 2003 by Nick Wilson
In case people needed even more proof of Hispanic leaders' growing importance, not only in the United States but globally, they only have to look at Mexico's Carlos Represas, the head of Nestle for the Americas.
Speaking Spanish and knowing Latin American culture helped him get the job: in today's globalized world being bilingual and bicultural are hugely competitive pluses on the world job market. Carlos Represas was one of the many ground-breakers who have paved the way for younger Latinos to make it big in business, politics, education and entertainment, in both the United States and beyond. They are riding the wave of success that Henry Cisneros charts out in our opinion piece.
It gives me pleasure to introduce Carlos Represas on the front cover of the first edition that I, as the new editor of Latino Leaders, am in charge of.
I would like to thank former editor Patrizia Rossi for all her hard work, dedication and enthusiasm, and leaving a professional, informative, inspiring magazine as a legacy of her time here. Patrizia has returned to her native England to pursue her journalistic career and all of us at Latino Leaders wish her well, knowing that she will contribute as much to the next publication that is fortunate enough to have her on board as she did to this one
Taking the helm, I intend to keep the magazine on the same course of quality, interest and creativity that Patrizia set, while adding my own touch.
