Edward L. Romero, a former US ambassador to Spain under President Bill Clinton, has joined the Bank of America Corporation's board of directors.
Romero, 69, served on the president's US Hispanic Advisory Committee and on the board of directors of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute and the National Hispanic Cultural Center. He also has been a member of the US Trade Representative's Services Policy Advisory Committee and has led a number of US trade delegations to Mexico.
Romero was founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Advanced Sciences, Inc., an international environmental engineering and waste management company. Approximately 75% of the US Hispanic population lives in states where Bank of America operates retail banks.
