In what represents an ecilting fast for the Latino community in the US, The University of St. Thomas in Miami, Florida, recently announced the creation of a new Master of Arts Degree in Communication Arts with a specialization in Hispanic Media program.
"The Latin population has become a driving force in the advertising and communications arena," said Dr. Gloria Ruiz, professor in the Communications Arts Department and the new program's director. "I think it's going to be a fun program and very relevant," she added. "Miami is a bilingual city to an extent unmatched by any other large metropolitan area in the United States."
The new program will be offered by the university starting October 2004. Students enrolled in the program will have access to state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, as well the guidance of an experienced and highly respected faculty staff.
