The advocate of diversity: Luisa Acosta-Franco: assistant vice president, Emerging Markets

Latino Leaders: The National Magazine of the Successful American Latino, July-August, 2007

As Assistant Vice President for Emerging Markets, Luisa is responsible for developing and implementing growth plans and strategies designed to establish Farmers Insurance as the market leader among the nation's emerging markets. Some of the areas of focus include agency recruitment, advertising and marketing customer experience programs and new product development. For Luisa, the five words that best describe Farmers Insurance are: solid, engaged, world-wise, challenging and agile. "For nearly 80 years, Farmers has maintained a culture of stability and reliability," she comments, and adds: "We are open, frank and fair with all of our stakeholders and we establish partnerships that are mutually beneficial. Our curiosity makes us keen observers of the world, and we use this to learn and draw insights that can be turned into useful ideas. We find new ways of solving problems and make it our business to spot and evaluate change to gain every possible advantage for our customers."

Luisa believes that commitment to the community is what makes Farmers Insurance such a good choice. "Farmers has undertaken a bold and audacious effort designed to establish itself as the company of choice for Latino consumers. This undertaking has positioned us to offer a variety of professional opportunities for those interested in growing and succeeding with us.

"After all is said and done, an objective evaluation would show that few companies have the history of success that Farmers has and fewer still have as bright a future. From best in class training in state-of-the-art facilities to outstanding personal development opportunities through programs such as our Emerging Leaders program, Farmers is ready to offer its best to those willing to offer their best in return."
