Spend Christmas in Mexico! 3 marvelous beaches in Mexico that combine nightlife, great food and wonderful weather where you can spend Christmas time

Latino Leaders: The National Magazine of the Successful American Latino, Dec, 2004

Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen is the capital of the Mexican Riviera. Here, activities and the imagination go hand in hand. The deep waters separating it from Cozumel are ideal for sport fishing, and the jungle invites you to explore its lush, magical world while trips to nearby archaeological sites are extremely gratifying. The evening offers a number of options, such as places to dance and shake off the insomnia caused by Caribbean nights. If you'd like to spend a particularly pleasant evening, you can stroll down Quinta Avenida, the most famous street in Playa del Carmen that runs parallel to the sea, and visit its many restaurants, bars and cafes.

Acapulco

Acapulco's nightlife has something for everyone. Its illuminated glass porches are now legendary. The discotheques, dance halls and bars are all specifically designed for all sorts of people to have a good time. Many of these establishments have a panoramic view of the bay. The main attraction of the bay is its more than twenty beaches, each with a distinct atmosphere, where you can choose your favorite water sport. Enthusiasts will find ample opportunities for sports fishing, diving, water skiing and snorkeling. There are also several ecological areas that are ideal for picnics and horse riding, as well as golf courses and tennis courts.

Ixtapa Zihuatanejo

Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo has managed to preserve all the attractions that have made it so highly sought after; virtually unspoiled beaches, year-round sun, a calm and clean sea. It also has a first-rate infrastructure, hotels and restaurants to suit every budget, golf course and above all, facilities for water sports, excursions and walks. Ixtapa's nightlife has something for everyone, since it offers Mexican fiesta shows, bars with romantic music and discotheques to suit every taste. During Christmas season, some of the major hotels arrange a Mexican Fiesta Evening one day a week which usually bells around 7 p.m. with a sophisticated dinner-buffet, live folk music and regional dances.
