Previously unpublished case reports and case studies are eligible for this open-ended contest

Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, Jan-Feb, 2004

To enter, contestants must submit a previously unpublished case study or case report in the field of dermatology, along with this signed entry form permitting the Journal to publish their entries. Entries may be made either by mail or e-mail; contestants may enter as many different submissions as they like, and ARE eligible to win more than once.

Material submitted should be between one and five pages, in electronic format, including photographs, charts, diagrams, or other appropriate artwork which may accompany a submission. All artwork should be high-resolution (at least 300 dpi), reproducible, and submitted in files separate from the text.

It is each entrant's responsibility to obtain permission to use the name of any person mentioned in your submission or the image of any recognizable person shown. Entrants warrant to the Journal that their material is original and release the Journal from any legal responsibility related to unauthorized use of copyright material or of another person's name or image.

All submissions will remain the property of the entrant. By submitting an entry contestants grant the Journal the irrevocable right to use their case study, case report, or other submitted material for promotional or unrelated purposes as well as possible print or Internet publication.

The Journal will be the sole judge of submissions and selector of winners. There will be six winners each issue. First prize will be $300, second prize will be $200, and third prize will be $100.

The Journal is not responsible for and shall not be liable for late, lost, misdirected, or unsuccessful submissions or claim attempts. By entering, participants agree to be bound by these Contest Rules and all decisions of the judges, which shall be final. The Journal reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend or cancel this Contest at any time. By participating in the Contest, participants agree to release and hold the Journal and its employees, sponsors, agents and/or representatives, harmless from any and all losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind in connection with the Contest, or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of any submission, including but not limited to publicity rights, copyright infringement, defamation, or invasion of privacy. The Journal reserves the right to edit, revise, or abridge any submission.

Judges will make their decisions based on several factors, including clinical relevance, excellence, accuracy, usefulness, novelty, and timeliness. Winning submissions will be posted online at www.medicalabstracts.org, and published in a future issue of the Journal. Winning contestants will not be directly notified. Prizes not claimed within 30 days of the winning entry's posting on www.medicalabstracts.org will be forfeited. This contest is ongoing; entries will be accepted ad infinitum.
