Herpes simplex virus test kit

Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, May, 2007 by Marissa Heller

The FDA recently granted clearance to Focus Diagnostics, Inc for release of a herpes simplex virus (HSV) test kit. The test kit (Plexus HerpeSelect 1 and 2 IgG test kit) contains an assay that finds and differentiates between immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies to HSV type 1 and HSV type 2 in the sera of patients.

This test can assist in diagnosis of HSV infection in sexually active adult patients.
