The use of Kineret in the treatment of Familial Cold Urticaria

This study is currently recruiting patients. Sponsors and collaborators: Capital District Health Authority, Canada and Atlantic Provinces Dermatology Association. An open-label trial of Kineret (anakinra) induction therapy (100 mg/day) given over 4 or more weeks in the treatment of Familial Cold Urticaria (FCU). FCU is a rare autosomal dominant condition triggered by exposure to cold and variable in expression. This study will evaluate the efficacy of Kineret, an interleukin 1 receptor antagonist in induction and maintenance therapy in patients with FCU.
