Java Games Download Growth By Age

Electronic Gaming Business, June 30, 2004

According to mobile marketing provider Enpocket, Java game downloads increased 175% in the first two quarters of 2004 in the U.K., with 5.8% of the customers it monitored downloading a game to their cell phones in Q2 alone. A breakdown of Q2 growth in Java game downloads reveals a high concentration in the 18-to-24-year-old segment (+17.6%). For those who anticipate that cell phone gaming will lure more female gamers than console and handhelds, Enpocket reports that 58% of Java game downloders were male and 42% were female.
