Industry: Email Alert RSS FeedHalo 2 and Nothing But Halo 2
Electronic Gaming Business, Nov 3, 2004
As we have been reporting for the past few issues, spot checks with retailers suggest that the mega-franchises Halo and GTA are sucking energy and sales from the rest of the market. The latest tracking poll from GameSpot Trax dramatizes how dominant Halo 2 has been in its category, grabbing more than 80% of console FPS traffic, challenged only briefly by the release of Star Wars Battlefront release in September.
Gamer interest in the title remained stoked throughout the summer with a special spike coming in mid-October off of news that the game had been pirated.
