* Handheld Entertainment appoints serial entrepreneur Nathan M. Schulhof CEO. The former head of Audiohighway.com is credited with bringing to market the first MP3 audio player in 1997. At Handheld, Schulhof says he will introduce later this year the first portable video player for under $100. This is the sort of device that could steal some thunder from the upcoming line of handheld entertainment devices from the likes of Sony's PSP multimedia player.

* THQ Inc. appoints tech industry veteran Henry T DeNero to its Board of Directors. DeNero has been CFO of Dayton Hudson Corporation, which is now Target Corporation and the CEO of real estate and mortgage company HomeSpace. This expands the THQ board to six members.
