Soprano Sell performs and teaches singing and piano, and lectures and conducts vocal workshops for all age groups and levels of ability in many parts of the world. Here she argues that there is more to educating the singer than training the voice, that a holistic education entailing multi-disciplinary study is essential if classical singers and vocal teachers are to be prepared adequately for singing and for their teaching role, and equipped to cooperate effectively in inter-professional relations. The study is revised from her doctoral dissertation at Middlesex University; she offers no date for it, but notes that it is a product of her years of practice rather than of raw academic theory.
