Griffin (emeritus, religion and theology, Claremont School of Theology and Claremont Graduate U.) identifies internal contradictions in the various public narratives about the September 11th terrorist attacks of 2001 and hopes that by pointing out the contradictions it may prompt Congress to more seriously investigate the events of that day without fear of being seen as "conspiracy theorists." The issues he raises include the behavior of George Bush and Dick Cheney on the morning of the attacks, the timeline concerning the US military's awareness of the hijacked planes, the identity of the hijackers, and whether there were explosions in the World Trade Center.
