This study by Stamm (a science officer at COST--European Cooperation in the Field of Scientific and Technical Research--in Belgium) explores whether a specifically European elite, an elite that transcends nation-state boundaries, is emerging within the European parliament. Having conducted qualitative interviews with Members of European Parliament (MEPs) from Germany, France, Great Britain, Poland, and Hungary, he focuses on the biographies of MEPs, their respective ways of career and recruitment, and their conceptions and perceptions as MEPs in order to answer his question. Distributed in the US by ISBS.
