Billsberry (organizational behavior, Open University) viewed a discrepancy between theory and practice in recruitment, and the research he undertook and presents in this publication addresses that discrepancy. He intends the book to be a supplement to a textbook, and includes sections of activities to prompt discussion in the classroom. Thirteen chapters in three sections are presented, with the three sections divided into the selector's perspective, the applicant's perspective, and finally a combination of both. Each chapter includes at least three "stories," drawn from the author's students' experience during recruitment and selection.
