Willingham (Spanish, Baylor U.) provides an introductory essay describing the manuscript and its study as well as one on the medieval way of seeing the world. Other essays engage with social and political context, time and space, and the depiction of animals. The manuscript's illuminations are reproduced in color plates, with four pages on each plate.
