Northrop Frye was one of the most influential critics and intellectuals of the 20th century. An intimate picture of his personal life is revealed through correspondence with his first wife, Helen Kemp. These letters show Frye and Kemp engaging with and contributing to the unique cultural climate of the 1930's. B&w personal photographs are included, along with original drawings and graphics by Helen Kemp and her father, S. H. F. Kemp. Burgess is editorial assistant for the Collected Works of Northrop Frye at Victoria University in the University of Toronto. There is no subject index.
