With reference to practices in the European Union and the United States, this study explores the scope of resolution mechanisms available for dealing with disputes in electronic commerce. The author begins with an overview of the possible disputes that can arise from conducting business on the Internet and then discusses a range of policy choices including self-regulation, international regulation, and consumer protection. He then explores and analyzes the litigation choices available and sets forth his own mechanism for alternative dispute resolution and describes how it would fit in with commerce law. Nijhoff is an imprint of Brill.
