Reflecting the many developments in fields that include artificial intelligence, evolutionary computing, neural networks, artificial immune systems, ant colony optimization, decision support systems, and fuzzy logic, among others, the First WRI (World Research Institutes) Global Congress on Intelligent Systems, held in Xiamen, China in May 2009, featured 464 papers, presented in this 4-volume proceedings. Organized by workshop, the papers present current research and applications by engineers worldwide. A sampling of paper topics includes real-time hand gesture recognition system based on Q6455 DSP board, a model of data reduction based on tensor field, fast path searching in real time 3D game, and policy-gradient based actor-critic algorithms. Each paper includes an abstract, and lists of keywords and of references. Formulas, code, and visual supporting materials are included. Each volume is author indexed; there is no subject index.
