This book/CD-ROM package combines test preparation for the CompTIA A exams (Essentials [220-601], 220-602, 220-603, and 220-604) with a hands-on section applying A exam questions to real-world PC repair problems. The first chapter of the book offers a thorough overview (42 pages) of the CompTIA certification exams. The book then covers installing and troubleshooting hardware, networking, and solutions to common problems for machines running various versions of Microsoft Windows. Learning features include chapter summaries, review questions, screenshots, a glossary, two cumulative practice exams, and a final exam. The CD-ROM contains hundreds of practice questions for all four of the current A exams. Tests can be taken in four different modes: assessment, certification, study, and flash mode. Crayton is a technical and security consultant.
