This guide illustrates techniques for natural light photography with color photos on every page. It offers advice on finding locations with studio-quality lighting outdoors or indoors, quick and cheap fixes for working in bright sunlight, and using subject placement to control lighting. Emphasis is on portraiture, with only a few examples of scenes. Step-by-step color images show how to use different techniques to add and subtract light from various areas of the foreground and background. Chapter challenge assignments are included. The only equipment needed is a camera, although a tri-pod is also recommended. Marr has taught at the Santa Fe Photo Workshops and at Newspace in Portland, Oregon.
