Air Arabia

Air Arabia will begin-thrice weekly Sharjah-Calicuta services on Feb. 26. Frequencies will double by the end of May. It is Air Arabia's 10th Indian destination. Feb 25, 2008

Emirates Airlines

Emirates will launch six weekly flights from Dubai to Kozhikode from July 1, marking its 10th destination in India. Emirates initially will operate 777-200s and A330-200s on the route, offering more than 4,000 passenger seats and close to 200 tonnes of belly cargo capacity per week. Feb 28, 2008

Gulf Air

Gulf Air will launch a four-times-weekly Manama-Shanghai service aboard Airbus A340-300s from June 16, upgrading the service to daily with the start of the 2008-09 winter schedule. Feb 28, 2008

RAK Airways

RAK Airways bought the Boeing 737-800s and plans to start flights to India in April, it said in a statement. It also wants to fly to Nepal, Bangladesh and Lebanon. RAK Airways, the United Arab Emirates-based startup that launched service from Ras Al Khaimah in November, selected Boeing to provide its narrowbody fleet. Feb 25, 2008

RAK Airways

RAK Airways started flying last fall to Beirut, Colombo, Sofia and Dhaka with leased Boeing 757s. It said it plans to start flights to India in April and fly to 20 destinations within the next two years. Feb 25, 2008
