Two wonderful, fun titles are highly recommended picks, offering lively reads paired with concrete natural history to both delight and educate. Bob Tarte's Enslaved By Ducks (1565124502, $12.95) tells of the author's new rural Michigan home, which was to be beset upon by demanding animal family when his new wife wanted a rabbit. Bob went from petless to finding his home overrun--and finding pets had become a part of his life, each with distinct personalities. Amy Stewart's The Earth Moved: On The Remarkable Achievements Of Earthworms (1565124-685, $12.95) is also a winner, adding humor and lively dialogue to the story of the benefits of worms. Chapters blend humor with science in a chronicle gardeners also will want to enjoy. Both are outstanding picks for both entertainment and educational value.
