Dancing Within The Song is a coming-of-age novel, following fourteen-year-old Rashia. Raised on a communal farm that condones smoking marijuana, among other questionable activities, her life abruptly changes when her father decides it is time to join the outside world. Rebelling against the sudden changes, she runs away back to her old life, now a harder and more dangerous world that has lost much of its original idealism, unaware of the risks she is taking. A passionate story, not intended for a very young audience, as severe situations and mature language reflect terrible realities and choices.
