Most Of My Life Has Been About Waiting is the personal story of Peter Ballou, a seminary student, priest, married man, and dedicated teacher. It follows his life during long years of training to become a churchman, the loneliness of seminary life, homesickness, and his aghast reaction to church scandals and cover-ups. Eventually he breaks away from a life course that threatens to drive him mad, and marries a nursing student Abigail; yet as accustomed as he is to being an introvert, he must brave the difficulties of learning to love and express his feelings for God and his wife.
