Hoya Announces Postponement of Commencement of Tender Offer

Tokyo, Japan, June 11, 2007 - (JCN Newswire) - Although Hoya Corp and Pentax Corp entered into an agreement as of May 31, 2007 to effect their management integration, Hoya hereby announces that the commencement of the tender offer originally scheduled for the beginning of this June will be delayed until the middle of June or thereafter as Hoya is consulting the relevant regulatory agencies again in order to finalize the terms of the tender offer. The date of the commencement of the tender offer will be announced as soon as it is finalized.
