Identrus

Software Magazine, June, 1999

Control Data Systems Inc. announced support for Identrus, a global trust organization that lets businesses manage electronic commerce risks through a trusted relationship with their financial institution.

With Identrus, Control Data plans to tie together the range of complex networks, technologies, and applications necessary to conduct c-commerce. Directory services are an integral part of management and distribution of security information throughout the enterprise.

Control Data's directory solutions are integrated and interoperable with solutions from other Identrus technology providers, including Baltimore, GTE CyberTrust, Entrust Technologies, and VeriSign. Control Data will provide directory solutions, consulting services, and support for Identrus member institutions worldwide.

Prices for each of these three areas will vary by client, depending on the specific scale and nature of the client environment. Directory services generally cost two to two and one-half times the purchase price of the directory software, once again depending on the complexity of the engagement. So, for example, if a company purchased directory software totaling $100,000, the directory services cost would be between $200,000 and $250,000.
