Unison

Software Magazine, June, 1999

Global Turnkey Systems Inc. recently announced the latest release of Unison, a suite of more than 15 integrated modules that manage a publishing and information provider business. This release is a design upgrade of the current product, bringing it from a character-based system to a graphical user interface (GUI).

Unison is an integrated product offering order fulfillment, subscription management, royalties, inventory management, customer processing, college text marketing, sales analysis, promotions, mail list management, job costing, electronic data interchange (EDI), accounts receivable, accounts payable/general ledger, and purchasing.

Unison has been installed at more than 100 publishing firms and implemented at several university presses. Drawing on the close relationship Global has with IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Unify, Oracle, and Cognos, the company works to design a software and hardware product engineered to meet the business needs of each client.

Additionally, Global's Professional Services area assists throughout the implementation, offering project planning, business requirements analysis, conversion assistance, testing, training, and technical support.

Initial implementations of Unison 6.0 are scheduled for the last two quarters of 1999.

Depending on the total number of users, system requirements, and configuration, license fees range from $1,000 to $6,500 per user. Pricing is based on the overall scope of the project; for instance, number of users, conversion requirements, hardware selection, integration to other systems, and other professional services such as business analysis.
