From Mesa Systems International comes MesaVista 4, an intranet portal tool that provides a framework for engineering collaboration and automation of development processes.

MesaVista is designed for use by organizations that engineer complex products and systems such as those in aerospace, telecommunications, and medical device industries. Because of inherent stringent regulatory requirements, they benefit from the built-in process automation that MesaVista promises to provide.

MesaVista consists of a core of collaborative tools, a set of optional application links for integrating diverse design tools, and management modules for controlling the product development life cycle.

New features include an expansion of the MyVista interface for enhanced utility, real-time conferencing, calendaring with Microsoft Outlook, journaling tools, and wireless access to data. The product also provides role-based access control for project security and data linking for process traceability. Application links for third-party tools include: Rational's Rose, ClearCase, and ClearQuest; Microsoft's Project and Visio; CA's Project Scheduler 7; Foresight Systems' Foresight; Popkin System Architect; PTC Pro/Engineer; and Telelogic's Doors and Tau UML. In addition, the new Application Link Toolkit allows developers to create their own application links to customized software.

Pricing starts at $100,000. Application links and management modules start at $10,000.
