Application Development: Testing

Software Magazine, Spring, 2002

From Quest Software comes Benchmark Factory 3 for load testing and capacity planning. The release features support for Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange. The product simulates as many as thousands of users accessing databases, file systems, Web servers, and messaging systems, using a minimal amount of client hardware. Its capability for comparing "before and after" scenarios allow IT organizations to create and analyze real-world performance of applications before they are deployed.

Benchmark Factory 3.0 provides: a new Start-up Wizard and Quick Start Guides; a virtual browser supporting XML, JScript and VBScript; the ability to create database load tests based on actual user activity using ODBC and SQL Server 7.0 trace files; and the ability to test each component of complex systems as an entire system, or by isolating subsystems.

Benchmark Factory 3.0 pricing starts at $14,500.
