Distributed foresight

Software Magazine, Sept, 1999

InfoSpinner Inc. recently announced ForeSite Application Server Version 3.0.1.

The ForeSite Application Server open integration framework is said to help shorten time-to-deployment and support distributed computing and component standards that eliminate the many risks found in proprietary development tools and environments.

Added enterprise-class features in ForeSite Application Server include enterprise Extensible Markup Language (XML). The XML feature also includes: composite XML documents constructed from multiple nonintegrated data and applications; a packaged Java Integration Framework with JavaBeans that use XML for enterprise data access; host integration connection caching and pooling for greatly accelerated throughput of Web-enabled 3270 and 5250 applications; and extensible support for MQSeries, Java servlets, and CICS.

InfoSpinner licenses the ForeSite technology though OEM agreements to major software companies. ForeSite Application Server can run on Microsoft NT 4.0, Hewlett Packard HP-UX 10.10, IBM AIX 4.2, and Sun Solaris 2.5.1. Pricing for Version 3.0.1 is $29,995. Foresite Message Queue, Transaction Server, and Host Integration SIMs are an additional $4,995 each.
