Psipenta USA Inc. introduced Psipenta 4.0, a major release of its object-oriented application suite. Psipenta integrates all manufacturing life cycles (product, project, customer, contract, and service) and all processes of those life cycles into one product.

Psipenta encompasses three primary areas: order management, which manages the logistics chain from project management to integration of production; manufacturing logistics, which supports the implementation of the planning, data input, and detail planning phases; and framework, which is the underlying architecture that enables Psipenta to be used on all major hardware platforms and integrated with any Component Object Model (COM)-compatible software using COM/Distributed COM standards.

Psipenta 4.0 uses a GU browser; client components run Windows 95 or NT, while server components run on Windows NT, as well as IBM, HP, and DEC Unix. Pricing starts at $175,000 and is available immediately in the U.S.
