BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE: Data Mining

Software Magazine, April, 2001

The ShowCase division of SPSS announced enhancements to its business intelligence offerings with the launch of the Clementine data mining solution. Clementine supports analytical techniques including neural networks, decision trees, logistic regression, visualization, and data preparation procedures. Clementine also has the capability to scale the entire interactive data mining process by leveraging existing technology to push processing back into the database with in-database mining.

Some uses for the product include: classifying customers, identifying fraud or noncompliance, forecasting sales, and performing market-basket analysis.

Also available is Clementine Solution Publisher, an option that enables rapid deployment of data mining solutions. This allows organizations to continually update the data mining process and then redeploy updated solutions to decision-makers throughout the organization.

Pricing for ShowCase Clementine starts at $50,000.
