Software Magazine, Sept, 1991
XVT Software, Inc., Boulder, Col., has unveiled XVT-Design, an interactive design tool and application generator for graphical user interfaces (GUIs). Developers can design GUI resources, such as dialog boxes, windows, controls, menus and strings, in both a graphical and portable manner.
Another feature in XVT-Design is its ability to generate output in multiple formats. Native resources can be generated for a variety of windowing environments, such as Macintosh, Microsoft Windows, Presentation Manager, Open Look and OSF/Motif for X Windows, and XVT's own character system. The tool also generates C code for the application's user interface, C header files, a makefile, and the Universal Resource Language used by XVT libraries. GUI resource information for each application is stored as a portable binary file that can be transferred easily across platforms.
