Pyramid vies to assuage PC security fears - Pyramid Development Corp.'s PC/Dacs and Net/Dacs security software - Newsfront - Brief Article

Software Magazine, Sept, 1992

Pyramid Development Corp., Rocky Hill, Corm., once a development arm of the former Sage Software, Inc., is looking to quickly take advantage of security issues caused by the uncontrolled spread of personal computers in large corporations.

"There is an emerging recognition of the need to secure PCs,| said John Worsbam, president of the PC/Dacs and Net/Dacs data access control software systems maker. "And with that recognition, [PC] security is seen as an unmanageable problem."

Pyramid spun out its Sage development unit, headed by co-founder Tom Costello, in 1989 to concentrate on the security software, whose revenues have increased from $1 million to $6 million in that time. Costello's unit moved on to Cambridge, Mass., following the Sage merger with Index Technology Corp. to form Intersolv, Inc.
